Tianjin and Luneng Crowned at Chinese Super League

The Men’s and Women’s Team finals of the 2018-2019 Season Chinese Super League concluded on February 2 in Beijing, the Chinese capital city.

At the exciting finals of the Men’s League, Tianjin Club made a 3-0 victory over Shanghai Zhongxing Club led by world ranking No.2 XU Xin. The man of the hour was FANG Bo, who contributed 2 points by taking down XU Xin in the first match and then again won the third together with ZHU Linfeng against ZHAO ZIhao/CHENG Jingqi, right after colleague LIN Gaoyuan defeated ZHAO Zihao 3-0 in the second singles match.

The battle of Women’s Team Finals was nothing short of tension and excitement. Shangdong Luneng Club fought its way till the end and won 3-0 against Shenzhen University led by 2018 ITTF World Tour Grand Finals Women’s Singles Champion CHEN Meng.

This time the core of Luneng was 2018 Asian Games Winner, the 19 year-old WANG Manyu, who won 3 consecutive games when facing a 0-1 situation against “Little Monster” SUN Yingsha in the first match. With the precious first point in pocket, Luneng’s CHEN Xingtong was able be stay focused and determined, which helped her to defeat CHEN Meng 3-1. For the final match CHEN Xingtong together with LIU Gaoyang had a sweep 2-0 win over WANG Yidi/SUN Yingsha, crowning Luneng Club the Women’s Team Champion for the SIXTH time.
