Events: Men?s Team Event

Goal: Our primary goal for this event is to promote the culture exchange between Europe and Asia and expand popularity of the sport of table tennis worldwide. We also would like to show the players from other countries the passion and vitality of people from the capital city of Beijing and to promote it to become one of the international sports events with great impact.

Competition Method:

  • Each team will have 5 players; the competition will include 10 matches; five single matches per day.
  • The subsequence of the matches will be:

Aug. 25th 19:30 A5-E3?A1-E2?A4-E4?A2-E1?A3-E5

Aug. 26th 19:30 A4-E5?A2-E2?A3-E3?A1-E1?A5-E4

  • The No.1&No.2 player will be decided by the world ranking, while the order of the rest players will be decided by the team coaches;
  • The match will be played for best of five, 11 points;
  • The final result will be based on the results of both Asian tournament and European tournament. The team with more winning record will be the final winner. If the result of the two tournaments account for 6 to 6, then there will be an additional single match played by a selected player. The team that the winner of the additional match represents will be the champion.
  • The competition will follow the rules and regulations of ITTF.
