2016 First ATTU EB Meeting Concluded Successfully in Dubai
During the just concluded 2016 Nakheel Asian Cup in Dubai, UAE, the Asian Table Tennis Union held its first EB meeting of this year from 29th to 30th April at the office of Falcon, a strategic advisory company working on behalf of the Dubai leadership.
Views and ideas have been fully exchanged among the EB members on how to reform the Asian Championships, as well as how Asia shall cope with ITTF’s decision to reform the World Championships.
As 2016 is an Olympic year, the Board reviewed in details the Asian qualification event which ended only two weeks ago in Hong Kong, and shared updated information regarding the Olympic Games.
Preview has been made on major Asian events to be held later this year as well as next year, and several development activities have been presented. Apart from already recognized Asian tournaments, some newly designed competitions have also been introduced, in particular, the Indian League.
The 45th anniversary book of the Union to be distributed next year will start data collection as soon as the content and volume of the book get confirmed.
